A newspaper purchased by the Party in 1920. Initially it appeared twice weekly; in 1923 it became a daily. Its banner was Bewegung VB-Kampfblatt der NS. After the Nazi rise to power, the Voelkischer became the government's unofficial news outlet and one of its most important tools in disseminating Nazi propaganda. Its circulation rose from 116,000 in 1932 to 600,000 in 1938 and 1.2 million in 1941.
